Considering that we have less than month before falls arrives and the fact that it's felt more like late September here I thought it was time reminisce.
I love summer. It's only a few hot months where the sun shines longest in the sky and you feel the need to get away from work and enjoy fruit fresh off the vine. One of the main reasons I love summer is because of the profusion of smells and I've compiled a list that reminds me of the great times I've had these four months.
Fresh cut grass
Pine sap
Campfires
Fresh corn and peaches
Steak or hamburgers on the barbecue
Wildflowers
Freshly pitched hay
Roadside lemonade
Asphalt after a heavy rain
A chill morning in the mountains
Gardens in the morning after a night shower
Sheets dried on the line
Cotton candy
Freshly cut cedar
The smoke from fireworks
Old school sun tan lotion
The pool
Bacon and eggs in the morning
The ocean on a windy day
Homemade jam
Turn of the century barns
Fresh dirt
I'm not going to tag anyone but I'd be interested to see if you have any favourite smells that remind you of summer. If you do, would you mind giving me a heads up in the comments?

Sunburn. Not one of my favourite smells, but definitely one that reminds me of Summer/my friend Jack.
He doesn't believe in sun tan lotion (which, incidentally, is my least favourite smell of summer).
I have hayfever, so most summer smells make me sneeze.
I can't say I've ever smell 'sunburn'. In fact, I'm not sure I'd ever want to. Blech.
