The very kind cel.ia of adventures of cecelia bedelia has nominated me for a Kreativ Blogger Award.

The Rules:

Once you receive this award you are to list seven of your favorite things and then nominate seven other blogs. I'm afraid that most of my answers are going to mirror cel.ia's though.

My Seven Things:

Classic Movies - These gems are just waiting to be rediscovered and in many cases, are better than the movies that are put out today. I recently watched the March and Tracy versions of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" back to back and had a great time comparing and contrasting the two.

Books - It's really far too obvious to note. I've often been told that I have too many books so this year I decided to do something about it. But the only way I can declutter my bookshelf is to read. So far I've been averaging a book a week.

Food - I do enjoy cooking food but I enjoy eating food even more, especially homemade food. I also happen to love trying new recipes that I find on various blogs. My favourite discovery has been broccoli and cheese soup. The perfect cure for a cold day in winter.

Travel - Though I've only begun to dip my toes in international travel, I've camped all over the Pacific Northwest and haven't been disappointed yet.

Family Dinners - As much as family can drive you crazy, it's a way to gather everyone together and have a good meal at the same time. I've heard so many strange and wonderful stories that I can't believe really happened.

Music - My favourite types of music span the genres, allowing me to appreciate a wide variety of styles and artists. For example, I'm excited that our local Orchestra is going to be providing musical accompaniment to "City Lights" with Charlie Chaplin this fall but I was just as equally excited to hear about ACDC's newest album last year.

Time Well Wasted - Whether this is an hour or two spent chatting with a friend on your front stoop, an afternoon at the park or a weekend in your pajamas for a movie marathon, I like seeing the hours melt away from me.

The Period Movie Review - Jenn painstakingly puts together screenshots of various costumes from period movies. She covers a variety of periods with a critical eye to the historical accuracy of the costumes.

Old Picture of the Day - This blog combines two of my other favourite things, photos and history. PJM gives a glimpse into the past with a variety of gorgeous photos of people, events and places.

Stephanie's Written Word - A prolific reader who also happs to be holding a Jane Austen Challege. (See the button in my sidebar)

Oh Happy Day! - Beautiful photos, deletable clothes and killer design ideas.

Aubrey's Blog - Creates posts out of seemingly ordinary photos with some of the most beautiful language you'll read on a blog.
