40 Years of Sesame Street

40 years ago today, Sesame Street premiered, aimed at helping kids get ready for school by teaching them the alphabet and how to count among other things. That it has endured so long is a testament to one of its creator, Jim Henson.

I grew during the Silver Age of Sesame Street and grew to love the characters. This was also the first program I watched with an integrated cast. I learned basic Spanish and was introduced to different cultures from all around the world.

Here are a few clips I found that make me laugh, Enjoy!

I've always loved Kermit's "reporting live" segments... and how can you not enjoy seeing Cookie Monster in a library? :)
